Let’s face it. Vegetarian Korean restaurants are not that abundant in Singapore and that’s why we were so excited when we heard of Am I Addicted.
The cafe, situated at the basement of Capitol Piazza, exuded cosy vibes which immediately drew us in. Instead of trying to get the waiter’s attention, customers will be able to make use of the bell buzzer, a common find in restaurants in Korea.

The Grilled Cheese Kimchi Sandwich tasted almost like kimchi stew packed in a sandwich – a very hearty sandwich which kept us going back for more. What we felt could be improved would be the amount of cheese, as we could barely taste it, let alone get a satisfying cheese pull which we were looking forward to.

The Doenjang Truffle Risotto was ma-shita! If you’re looking for a carb-light dish, the fact that they substituted rice with barley will definitely delight you. Although the doenjang taste was less profound, the earthiness of the mushrooms paired with the truffle flavour was a winner.

Sick of the usual coffees and teas? Am I Addicted serves up quite an interesting range of beverages. They have taken the quintessential Korean ingredient – Ginseng and developed their own Ginseng Smoothie, Ginseng Ade and even Ginseng Milk Tea. Rest assured that you won’t be hit with dreadful bitterness. Instead, the drink is mainly sweet with a slight hint of Ginseng fragrance.

On top of whipping up wholesome Korean fare, it is also a pottery studio offering classes taught by professional ceramists. Both wheel-throwing and handbuilding classes are available daily at $80 per pax for 2 hours. If you’re a newbie, you can opt for an hour-long wheel-throwing trial class at just $55. Classes can be easily booked via their website.
