Knock Knock Cafe is a new floral-themed cafe that opened recently in Kallang. The cafe serves asian-inspired pastas and burgers. If you recognize the name, it’s because this is a spin-off of an app that connects content creators with their fans and followers called Knock Knock livestream app. The cafe has an atmosphere that is conducive towards being productive by providing free WiFi, meeting rooms where people can collaborate together on projects while eating delicious foods!

A homey café that’s decked in flower-filled walls, here you can get pasta noodle dishes and burgers with local flavours, including ‘Lup Cheong’ Carbonara and Otak Otak Burger made from Batang fish within its menu. If it is not enough for your appetite they have also signature beverages like cute bear lattes topped off with adorable frozen teddies!

Tacos With a Local Twist

Kickstart your meal at Knock Knock Cafe with their tacos that are not your usual tacos. Knock Knock Cafe has created these new taco recipes with local flavors to give you a unique twist for your palate. For seafood lovers, you can try the Chilli Krab Tacos ($15 for 2pcs) or the Golden Prawn Tacos ($13 for 2pcs). The former is a combination of the familiar flavours of a traditional Singaporean chili crab and Mexican street food staple – the taco! The famous East meets West combination is achieved by dousing the deep-fried soft shell crab with an ample helping of their homemade chilli crab sauce for that extra kick. It has a delicate balance of spiciness and sweetness!

You can also try out their Beef Steak Tacos ($16 for 2pcs), where tender chunks of steak are served with a creamy homemade peanut sauce on soft toasted tortillas!

East-Meets-West Pastas

If you’re looking to spice up your pasta repertoire Knock Knock Cafe is the place to be. They have a variety of pastas with Asian-inspired pasta, including their Just Like Grandma’s ‘Hae Bee Hiam’ Aglio Olio with Tiger Prawns ($17), ‘Lup Cheong’ & Bacon Carbonara ($16) and Umami ‘Laksa’ Seafood Pasta ($18). For you are looking for something spicy, opt for the ‘Hae Bee Hiam’ pasta! The pasta is tossed in with just the right amount of umami-rich hae bee hiam (spicy dried shrimp) to give it that extra kick. Every bite is bursting with flavors! It also comes with juciy tiger prawns to give your meal a little more protein. As the name suggests, the dish make anyone feel like they are eating their grandmother’s cooking!

But if you are looking for something creamier, Knock Knock’s ‘Lup Cheong’ & Bacon Carbonara is the pasta dish to order! The sauce has this amazing creamy texture that coats every strand of spaghetti perfectly with strong notes from the sweet chinese sausages and salty bacon bits.

Western Staples With an Asian Touch

Their signature Otak-Otak Burger ($17) definitely stands out from the rest! Batang fish are marinated using a medley of aromatic spices including lemongrass, chillies, ginger, turmeric, shallots, garlic. The patty itself speaks for its deliciousness but what really makes this dish so unique is how they have managed to keep things light yet flavorful at the same time – you won’t find yourself feeling heavy after munching on these scrumptious burgers! Knock Knock Cafe’s Otak-Otak Burger will certainly leave you wanting for more!

The restaurant’s most expensive burger, the Ultimate Wagyu Beef Burger ($26), will make your mouth water with its juicy grilled Australian wagyu beef patty (150g) and creamy pan-seared slice of foie gras. It also comes with a side of fries and salad. The foie gras adds a different taste to the usual beef patty, with an added layer of richness. Their Ultimate Wagyu Beef Burger is definitely worth every cent!

The dish comes with a generous serving of crispy fish fillet coated with a light Kronenborg beer batter, fries and mentaiko sauce. The mentaiko sauce is also a great addition – it adds an interesting twist to the usual fish and chips dish. For a mentaiko lover, this rendition is a sure winner and is definitely not a dish you want to miss out on!

End off your meal with Knock Knock Cafe’s sweet desserts! The cafe serves a wide array of desserts that are all made in-house, including the popular Party with Pandan Pancakes ($12), Crispy Banana Fritters with Ice Cream ($8) and Ondeh Ondeh Tiramisu ($12). Available only on weekends and public holidays, the pandan pancakes are a must-try! Unlike other pancakes that are usually drizzled with maple syrup, the fluffy pandan flavoured pancakes here are served with gula melaka syrup.

The Crispy Banana Fritters with Ice Cream is another of our favourites! The banana is deep fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior surrounding the sweet moist banana before topping off with a drizzle of caramel sauce and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Never leave Knock Knock Cafe with an insta-worthy photo of their Bear Lattes! The Bear Lattes ($6.50) are definitely worth trying out. Knock Knock Cafe uses a rich blend of Columbian and Brazilian coffee beans to make their Bear Lattes.
