Would you agree that bubble tea is one of Singapore’s “prized possessions”? More often than not, you will spot long queues, try to “kaypoh” what the new hype in town is, and realise it’s just another bubble tea store. There are probably more than a thousand bubble tea flavours out there, but here are just a couple which we thought are worth giving a slurp.
Don’t Yell At Me – Tiramisu Thé Au Lait ($9)
I am a lover of all things Tiramisu and this Tiramisu beverage was no exception. One of the concerns I had was whether this would be sickly sweet and that quickly diminished the moment I had my first sip. You get the luxurious, creamy cheese foam, followed by a punch of the slightly bitter espresso before the happy ending – milky Au Lait. It is truly a taste of indulgence, but no doubt, it could get a little heavy for non die-hard fans of sweet drinks so you may wish to enjoy this with someone! At the same time, you get to split the whooping cost of the drink. If you’re heading down, look forward to the minimalist store which is just as a feast for the eyes as the drinks!
What can I say? An initial skeptic to a forever fan.
BaWangChaJi 霸王茶姬 – Watermelon Oolong Frappe ($7.20)
Do you value the tea flavour in your cup of bubble tea? Then, you gotta drop by BaWangChaJi if you haven’t already. Introducing you to one of our favourite thirst quenchers here – the Watermelon Oolong Frappe. The freshness from the watermelon bites and earthiness from the Oolong tea came together to form a perfect harmony. You may even go for the cheese foam as a topping. A fun fact – BaWangChaJi uses rock sugar instead of white sugar which gives a milder sweetness level.
Beans Party – White Rabbit Candy Pearl Milk Tea ($4.30)

Take a trip down memory lane & grab a cup of this sweet, creamy goodness! The white rabbit candy flavour is subtle yet detectable with every sip – just the way I personally like it. Besides this beverage, you will also find other unique drinks such as Mango Pomelo Milk and Dirty Delicious Blueberry Milk. Head down to any of their outlets at Hillion Mall, Triple One Somerset or Holland Piazza to check them out.
HOLLIN – Pink Guava Rock Salt Macchiato (from $3.90)
Rock Salt Macchiato? If it sounds unfamiliar to you, it’s because this is a macchiato cream exclusive to HOLLIN. The smooth, light cream, which just glides down your throat, is paired with a range of flavours such as Matcha, Strawberry and Caramel. We would recommend the Pink Guava Rock Salt Macchiato as the fruitiness of the Pink Guava complements the slightly savoury cream beautifully. Not to forget, HOLLIN is also well-known for their handmade pearl flavours which change up daily.
yùng yùng – Champagne Grape Jelly Milk Tea ($4.40)
Quietly tucked away at Bishan Street 11, you may or may not have noticed this little quaint store with its outstanding Tiffany Blue-ish signboard amidst the old shops. This bubble tea store is just a stone’s throw away from Junction 8. One of the drinks which stood out to me on the menu was the Champagne Grape Jelly Milk Tea. Without a doubt, the star of the drink is the jelly which reminded me of the cup jellies from my childhood. While you’re there, don’t miss out on their seriously soft Yaowarat-style Bread Buns freshly toasted upon order.
